Bear Hunting
Bear Hunting In New Mexico & Arizona
The Southwest, including both New Mexico and Arizona, is home to many black bears, but due to our unique climate, most of the bears are color phased. Meaning that you may see black, chocolate, cinnamon, blondes, and on occasion some light red colored bears.
Bear hunts are performed with hounds in august, September, and October. An average size bear is in the 350 lb range but there are some opportunities where we are able to harvest MUCH larger bears. We should also mention that bears are scored off of skull measurements and New Mexico (and Arizona) has some really great genetics when it comes to that as well. Our camps are tent style camps with great food and even better hospitality. All bear tags are over the counter.
